It's a lovely /z but is a bit exuberant in comparison to the pretty sober other italics. If you do keep it, it might need to be a little taller. Perhaps italic /r could be narrower.2 -

Both of those newer z’s read to me as a touch too upright, and the most recent one a little too light too.3
